The Yorkshire & Humberside area are very pleased to be able to announce the promotion of John Burkill to 6th dan
.
John started Judo in the 1960s at the Goole club and has been involved with the club ever since.
He has worked hard across the area supporting events and training people in Judo for decades.
The club and members of the area owe John a big thank you, and of course, congratulations.
John was given a surprise presentation of 6th dan by Seth Birch (area coach) and Ben George (Chair / Director of Examiners) at an area dan grade promotion / training session in May 2022. Many Judoka from around the area and sports centre staff (where John works) had come along to see him being honoured.
