The British Judo Association is looking for volunteers to serve as Investigators for the BJA's Conduct and Complaints Commission. The Commission is also looking to appoint the Chair.
The Commission was set up 13 years ago and has overall responsibility to investigate and resolve complaints and conduct issues that are reported. Wherever possible, Investigators actively seek to mediate to provide solutions, however, some issues will be required to be taken forward to disciplinary action.
In the role you will be assigned a small number of cases, ie, one or two per year. You may also be asked to serve on adjudication panels to review other investigated cases.
The role is voluntary although expenses will be covered.
Applicants should have appropriate skills and experience to be able to investigate and report on issues accurately and thoroughly and have good mediation skills.
For further information regarding the role, please contact Keith Eldridge: 07788 391520
Expressions of interest, detailing relevant skills and experience, together with a brief CV should be sent to:

In 2014 we have been proud to see Judo players from our Area achieve success at all levels. An example was the trip to Germany
were the squad won a number of medals and the trophy for the best team.
We can only thank the coaches and parents who play a dedicated part in supporting the players and the Area.
Some of the competitions this year have been a success and that must be attributed to the dedicated officials who play such an important part
in running the events. Disappointingly, we have again had to cancel
some events.
A Competition Newsletter was launched to encourage more participation but without success and therefore it will be discarded.
The Area would like to thank Roy Francis for his many years of faultless service as Director of Examiners. He has seamlessly
taken us through many changes in the Grading System. We would also like to thank Mike Leng for taking over this role and we know
he will do a splendid job just as with any task he has been involved in.
The provision for coach revalidation in the Area and the open approach for coaches and players to participate in the excellence
program have been maintained. The training courses for coaches and players have again been organised this year and we would like
to extend our thanks to the BJA Technical Officers for their time and help with this.
The Y&H Web site is now well established as the means of timely communication and hope that the members will continue to make
full use of it.
I hope those who have shown their commitment to the Area over the years will continue to make 2015 even more
successful.
