Roy Francis, after many years of service to the area in his capacity as area Director of Examiners, is stepping down from that position.
Michael Leng will be taking up the responsibility from Roy. All grading forms should now be sent to Mike rather than Roy (Mike's address).
The area committee would like to thank Roy for his never ending commitment to the area and his duties while director of examiners. We'd also like to welcome Mike and wish him the best of luck in taking up the mantle from Roy.
The Yorkshire & Humberside Excellence session Coaches based at Goole Leisure took a team of Judo Athletes from all the areas to Stuttgart Glaspalast International Judo Tournament, the tournament was for Cadets/ Juniors and Senior competitors.
Cadets –
46 Kg Henry Wakes : Gold
63 Kg Emily Clark : 7th place
40 Kg Logan Cambell : 5th place
Amy Baker : Bronze
70 Kg Tanith Spencer : Gold
+ 78 Kg Gabrielle Kuliga : 5th place
Juniors – 21 year olds
73 Kg Aiden Donald : 7th place
Ari Aristidou won Bronze & Silver in the Junior & Senior event, Kirsty Guest won two Golds in the Junior & Senior Event winning 9 contest on Ippons 10 point scores.
U90Kg Mark Greaves : Silver
O90Kg Charles Crocock : Silver
90Kg Peter Vincent won Gold & Silver in the Junior & Senior event
U81Kg Seniors Ryan Hunter : Silver.
At the end of the two days of Competition the Yorkshire & Humberside Team won the overall team Trophy for best team. I would like to thank Carl from CAB Travel Goole for looking after all of us on a great trip.
