Parry Asquith honoured by being made Honorary President of the West Yorkshire Judo County and given a “Lifetime Achievement Award”
Sunday 17th November, Parry Asquith and his wife, Jackie, attended the West Yorkshire Judo Championships and development competition at Sedbergh Sports Centre in Bradford, close to the now redundant Richard Dunn sports centre. During this event, Parry was honoured by being made Honorary President of the West Yorkshire Judo County and presented with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by West Yorkshire Judo Chairman Gordon Lambert in front of hundreds competitors and visitors.

After decades as a Natoonal B, Dave Dunsford has finally got round to his exams for progression to National A referee.
This is no small achievement, giving up a huge amount of time to attend events but also in studying rules.
Dave will be familiar to many in the area since he moved up from London, he likes to think himself an honorary Yorkshireman even if his accent gives him away!
Huge congratulations on your promotion Dave.
At the end of June 2024 the North Yorkshire county held their annual festival of Judo.
Once again a candidate was assessed for his referee badge at the event, namely Peter Kelly.
